As a chiropractor, my care is focused on three stages: pain relief, rehabilitation, and wellness care. However, the absence of pain does not mean that the underlying cause of pain is resolved, so with time it is common to find that pain reoccurs. This is generally more common in those such as office workers and athletes, who, due to their method of work, can struggle to alter their lifestyle to prevent pain.
After initially relieving pain, we focus on rehabilitation. This will include strengthening and stretching exercises to stabilise the area of complaint, thus reducing the chances of recurrence, and also improving function and performance.
